How does our course work?
Certificate in 6 weeks
At TypeOlymp, you will learn fast and error-free typing with ten fingers in 6 chapters. If you complete one chapter each week, you will have your typing certificate within 6 weeks!
The starting position
We start by finding the right starting position on the keyboard. You learn which fingers rest on which keys. This forms the basis for learning great typing skills.
Letter by letter
From the starting position you get to know all the keys of the keyboard letter by letter. We start the exercises with single letters so that you get to know each key accurately.
Letters become words
Once you have mastered the basics of the keys, we combine letters into words. Through repetition and practice you will learn to type more and more fluently. Soon you will notice that you can type words effortlessly without even looking at the keyboard.
Words become text
After you can type words effortlessly, you go one step further and words become text. With each exercise, you continue to build your accuracy and speed, until you can take the final exam with confidence.
You have passed!
The course concludes with a final exam. Once you have passed the exam, you can immediately download your typing certificate. This certificate is fully personalised and can be saved or printed to show that you have successfully completed the course.
Challenging game techniques
Interactive leaderboards
There are several leaderboards where you can compete against other students on a daily basis. By doing so, we encourage kids to improve their performance and make the learning process even more fun and challenging.
Rewards for performance
During the course, rewards are given for various achievements. This encourages you to keep practising. For example, you can win trophies by practising several days in a row.
Medal award system
For each exercise, you can earn a bronze, silver or gold medal. This way, we encourage you to complete each exercise to the best of your ability and always get the best result.
Track progress
Statistics
Statistics allow you to monitor your progress at any time. Among other things, they show how far along the course you are, the number of strokes you're typing per minute and the accuracy.

The story behind TypeOlymp...
Coincidence, perseverance and some imagination
It all started in 2020 when Robin was approached by an experienced typing tutor with a clear mission: create a typing course that motivates children and makes it fun to learn.
Robin, who himself once learned to type with a boring course, immediately saw the potential and was enthusiastic. However, the time to tackle this job wasn't there. But good ideas stick. Two years later, during his minor in entrepreneurship, Robin decided to revive the project.
The original mission - to create a fun typing course for children - grew into something bigger. To offer a fun and motivating typing course that is accessible to everyone, regardless of location, age or background.
To achieve this, Robin put together a small team of specialists who brought in their own expertise. A typing teacher for quality content, a designer for an inviting, user-friendly design and a game marketer to make the course fun and motivating.
We are proud of what we have already achieved, but we don't stop here. We work daily on new ideas, improvements and extensions to make TypeOlymp even better and more accessible.
